Snow Day Study Pt. 1
Since most of the Western US has taken today off as a "snow day" I thought I would show solidarity by performing a snow study. Testing the old adage that wildlife becomes more receptive to stronger smelling food or bait.
At 11:45 AM I placed 3 bait stations within 2 meters of the Volunteer Residence at Malheur National Wildlife Refuge. Each location was in apx 6-7cm of snow.
Location1 a mixture of chicken and vegetables that had been cooked together for over 12 hours and then cooled fully and warmed on the counter thus releasing the greatest amount of odors detectable to myself.
The mixture contained chicken, onions, carrots, celery, kale, and seasoning common to roast chicken.
